Null Theory is a Sydney based collective of software engineers, product designers, solution architects, and AI and automation specialists.
We have spent many years designing and building software across various industries such as government, legal, enterprise consulting, creative and advertising. Over that time, we have worked on everything from internal platforms and business systems through to automation, AI driven workflows, and complex technical delivery inside established organisations.
Much of our work is centred on helping organisations refine and strengthen the systems behind their operations, using thoughtful software and automation to make complex work more streamlined, practical, and useful.
Null Theory was founded by Mark Tolson, a developer and tech leader with over 25 years of experience in enterprise software development. For more than 15 years, Mark has led teams building automation systems across a wide range of industries. His background combines hands on engineering with years of leading teams, shaping products, and delivering systems that need to work properly in the real world.
That same thinking sits at the centre of Null Theory. We care about good software, clear thinking, and building things that are genuinely useful. We like getting close to the problem, understanding how a business works, and creating technology that fits the job it needs to do.
